Description

Emotional landscapes,
They puzzle me,
Then the riddle gets solved,
And you push me up to this

State of emergency,
How beautiful to be,
State of emergency,
Is where I want to be.

Joga

i had this waiting in line for a render for nearly 5 months with this name, and with some final touches today, i was finally happy with it. :)

enjoy!

There is a somber depth to this piece that draws the viewer in. I haven't seen a fractal piece like this in a long time. Fractal landscapes are in a special class of their own: They are either alien and sort of whimsical, or they take on a measure such as this: dark, moody, and brooding.

Though there is lighted sky in this piece, there is also a dark swirling undercurrent beneath the surface. For that matter, the sky itself conveys bleak emotion.

As a fractal there are some very interesting parts and pieces. First and again, the bottom, there are some very intricate and 3-D-ish details that make me squint my eyes and want to inspect them closer on the screen to see what goodies I can see.

I congratulate the artist on using what were probably formulas and coloring algorithms that took a long time to load and work, so I good on you for your patience! It has paid off.

If there is one improvement that I can suggest is the piece in the mid-right hand edge of the piece; it sort of seems out of place and probably could be fixed with some simple mapping and masking. Swirling peak in the valley works because it seems like it is poking through a cloud. These are just observations.

There is also a hint of a Japanese sumi-e painting going on here, but I will stop before I go off on that tangent....well done on a well-thought out and dramatic piece!
